Hudson Hall Proprietors Ball

Saturday, May 4, 2019

Named in honor of the entrepreneurial men and women responsible for establishing Hudson in 1783, The Proprietors Ball celebrates the arrival of spring with an evening of dinner and drinks and special guest performances, with proceeds to benefit Hudson Hall in its mission to provide low or no cost arts and cultural programming to the community.

This year marks the 200th anniversary of Herman Melville’s birth in New York. Fittingly, The 2019 Proprietors Ball, so named in honor of the merchants and whalers who founded the City of Hudson in 1784, celebrates Hudson’s fascinating history, as well as one of America’s greatest writers.

Guests will be treated to seafaring rum cocktails, delicious spring chowder and the catch of the day, while the acclaimed Irish actor Conor Lovett regales us with selections from his solo adaptation of Melville’s literary masterpiece, Moby Dick, hailed by the Irish Times as a brilliant “distillation of Melville’s genius.”

Join the Gala Committee by making a pledge or purchasing tickets by March 15 to be included on the official gala invitation.
